Chapter Ⅰ : General Principles
Article 1: The committee is designated: The National Committee for CODATA, Academia Sinica, Taipei , R.O.C. The official abbreviation of this committee shall be NCCODATA/AST.
Article 2: The Committee is functioning under the direction of Academia Sinica, and comprises scientists from academic affiliations and scientists of data management in the Republic of China. The aims of this Committee shall be (a) of sponsoring academic conferences in the field of data acquire management and analysis; (b) of facilitating the database centers for cooperation; (c) join in as a membership of the Committee on Data, and participate international activities in order to promote science and technology of data for this Nation.
Chapter Ⅱ : Organization
Article 3: The National Committee comprises thirty-one Members including both Society-Nominated Members and Recommended Members. The Society-Nominated Members come from the Chairman of those National Committees of the Republic of China federated in ISC and appointed by the President of Academia Sinica. The term of Society-Nominated Members depends on the term of Chairman of each Committee. The Recommended Members are appointed by the President of Academia Sinica according to the practical situation. The term of Members shall be three years and can be re-appointed for the further term.
Article 4: The National Committee comprises seven Executive Group Members who are elected by Members. Based on the election result, there are three addtional members drawn up as the candidates once a Recommended Member resigns as a Executive Group Member or a Recommended Member. The Chairman of the National Committee is appointed by the President of Academia Sinica from the Standing Committee Members.
Article 5: The Committee comprises one Executive Secretary and several Secretaries. The Executive Secretary and Secretaries are nominated by the Committee Chairman and approved by the Standing Committee.
Chapter Ⅲ : Meeting
Article 6: The National Committee shall hold a Committee Meeting once a year, and the Standing Committee Members shall hold Standing Committee Meeting twice a year.
Chapter Ⅳ : Finance
Article 7: The Membership for the Committee on Data and regular expenses of the National Committee shall be sponsored by Academia Sinica. Other financial assistance shall be available by the donation of other agencies.
Chapter Ⅴ : By-Laws
Article 8: The Statutes and By-Laws shall take effect immediately after their adoption by the National Committee Meeting.
